Move Better with a Dolly
Moving is hard enough without worrying about your back
going-out or your appliances getting damaged.
A dolly is a great way to help ensure these things don’t happen, and
here some ways you can get the most use out of your dolly.
1. Measure your
larger household items well, taking care to write down the depth and width too,
then visit your local moving company or hardware store to rent a proper sized
dolly.
2. Gather your
supplies ahead of time, especially enough ropes and tape.
3. Have a few helpers
ready to get your large and heavy appliances maneuvered out of your old place
and into the new one with minimal damages.
4. Never move any
appliance, especially the refrigerator, on its side. Keep them standing upright to ensure that all
the tubing and liquids stay where they belong and cannot permanently cause
damage.
5. If you worry that
you don’t have enough helping hands, your appliances are of unusual size or
type, or there are stairs to maneuver, call a professional mover like
Supportive Services of Oregon "Moving & Hauling". They have
years of experience helping people move with care for their items and home and
can make your move a lot less stressful.
