Creative Ways to Protect Your Possessions When You Move

Creative Ways to Protect Your Possessions When You Move

No one wants to waste needed space and energy during a move. Here are some creative and simple ways to keep your items protected and use the things you need to move anyway to help you move with confidence.
1.  Use worn clothes to wrap up kitchen-ware such as plates, cups and platters.   You will conserve much bubble-wrap and eliminate at least a box of worn clothing!

2.  Stack your large plates vertically like file paper instead of lying them flat in order to minimize breakage.

3.  Use saran-wrap to seal the openings of creamy toiletries before replacing the cap and tying up the loose corners over it.  If the contents swell during the move and leak out, they won’t get all over everything.

4.  Put individual light-bulbs into sandwich bags before boxing up; if any of them shatter the mess is easy to throw out.  Also keep a box of new light bulbs just-in-case.

5.  Wrap up large mirrors in a blanket or thick duvet to prevent breakage.  If the blanket gets dirty it is much easier to clean it than it is to replace glass or to worry about all the clean-up.
